DAILY ROUTINE, WORKFLOW & ONLINE LEARNING ENVIRONMENT

SCHOOL IS CURRENTLY CLOSED

The information below is a suggested daily routine only. as parents ourselves, we know all too well that establishing a home learning environment is very different to the one your child experiences at school. This is why we would recommend maintaining a regular and familiar routine during the period of school closures. It is far too easy to allow your child to stay up later and stay in bed for longer in the morning but this will make things much harder for you in the long run. It will also make it much harder to get back in to a school routine when we eventually open.

Teachers have created indiviudal blog posts for each class with aditional or further suggestions for different year groups. These can be found using the links below:

Reception          Year 1          Year 2           Year 3          Year 4          Year 5          Year 6

8am:

Get up...  wash hands, have breakfast, clean teeth!

9am:

Exercise... Joe Wicks starts a live 30min workout each day on YouTube... at first you might only manage to keep up for 5 or 10 minutes but try to build up your stamina... we have plenty of time to practice getting fitter. If you can afford to, order a cheep wearable to record the number of steps your child completes each day.

Alternatively, there are other Health & Wellbeing websites and links noted below! Go Noodle is a popular one we use in school.

10am:

Home learning tasks... Ensure you have linked to you class Seesaw account (email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. if you have not recieved information on how to do this) to recieve weekly home learning challenges. Ensure your child completes these to the best of their ability and posts evidence of their work and learning within Seesaw.

11am:

Read a book... please, please, please, try to ensure your child continues to practice their reading and reads for pleasure. You can use our class Bookflix titles or any other reading material you think is appropriate but please, please, please keep on top of the reading!

If you do not have any 'real books' at home, there are numerous websites offering free online books for children of different ages. See below:

Oxford Owl

Epic

Children in our younger classes can also practice their phonics using the following weblink:

Phonics Play

Reception - Phase 2 and Phase 3

Year 1 – Phase 4 and Phase 5 (National phonics check in June)

Year 2 – Phase 6

12pm:

Get some lunch... consider healthy options and maybe even involve your child in preparing or cooking their own food (with adult supervision where approariate). Children entitled to free school meals are still entitled to do so. Please contact the school (or email the headteacher This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) for further details.
